FTWD - wow - only weeks into the apocolypse and they figured out how to walk among them using zombie blood and now how to create a zombie bomb ! How is Alex blaming Travis ? He at least tried to help her and the kid. It's Strand who cut them loose and he was the one who also said not to letting them on board. I didn't watch the airplane thing so don't know why she was so attached to the kid but she actually killed an healthy man over this sick kid - which makes no sense to me. Both Chris and Nick have the worst hair styles ! LOL Just saying. And was Daniel hearing voices ? Not sure what that was about.

Bates - tonights ep is supposed to be a game changer I read.

Marvel - so how was the movie ? Heard good things about it so far. I'll probably go see it the second week of June. Can't get there before that.

Mike V. said...

Bates - Is this the 2nd to last ep of the season? That's usually when they do that stuff. lol

Marvel - Loved it. Marvel has such a good grasp on the characters and the universe they're creating the movie was a complete joy to watch. Nothing felt shoehorned in and each character had their perfect moment. And it still felt like a Captain America movie when all was said and done. I'd see it again! That's crazy that you can't get to the theater until the middle of June! lol Well enjoy it when you go.

Speaking of FTWD - I haven't watched since the 2nd episode. Still not sure if we will finish it or not. I think I'm just burned out on zombies...TWD does it for me. lol

Orphan - caught up on this one. The whole French phone "connection" was obviously a highlight!

Gotham--I told my wife when Tabitha was stabbed with a huge sword she'll be the only one who will live through it. Then we're supposed to believe she and Butch are an item. And really, the Cap is the highest ranked policeman that can address the troops? And Azreal he's great and really seems unaffected by bullets. Great line when he saw the rocket launcher. And who doesn't like the Penguin. Butch's line about with Azreal being dead, he won't bother them anymore was funny but Penguin's response was hilarious.

BTW, love the Riviera.

Gotham - Decent episode if not ridiculous as you mentioned lol My favorite part was Gordon being in a cop car and stuck behind a slow truck. Dude, turn your siren on. lol Azreal...even though they destroyed him technically I guess the character could come back as someone else in the batman-verse....because these villains technically shouldn't die before Batman can face them. Also, I brought this up last week...do we think Strange will resurrect the kid who played a perfect joker?

Bates - Wow...I mean after they started that final scene with Norma writing the letter I had a suspicion where they were going, but I think we all were thinking the Sheriff had a better shot at leaving us this year.

But, the more I thought about it, since Norman is a split personality, Vera Farmiga can still remain part of the show next season. I guess there's a chance she may wake up but it seems pretty definitive that it was the end for her. And I'm sure Norman won't remember exactly what happened...and Romero may have to decide if he thinks Norman did it or it was a suicide. pretty intense stuff!

Gotham--I really like the idea of Strange bringing back the perfect joker. That guy still ranks among the best. I'd say just below penguin.

It really was entertaining.

Where's Gordon's girlfriend?

Richard

Gotham - I'm sure Lee will show back up in the finale. Perhaps the Joker being alive will be a cliffhanging final shot in the finale as well. BTW...did you happen to see previews for next week? We're getting another return visitor. I won't spoil in case you don't know. lol

MJ said...

Bates - Holy Moley ! Did they just kill Norma ?? I agree with you - I think they did. Agree also she can still be on the show. LOL Crazy swamped at work - just wanted to come ad say - Wow. Figured that was a move for next year. Next week is finale though - so close enough I guess.

MJ said...

Bates - read some Cuse comments - he won't say much cause it could ruin the finale. so that means she could still be alive. Stated finale was designed to be the emotional response to ep 9.

Mike V. said...

Bates - Are these the Cuse comments you read? Seems like they pretty much confirmed it but also confirmed that Vera will still be very much part of the show in season 5. But yeah...maybe it's not final yet until next week. I did think it would be next season as well...though that's how shows can still keep us on our toes. Even when we think we know what's going to happen...it's WHEN they execute certain things that can surprise us. Makes sense after it happened, but still shocking in the moment!

Shield - I just read an EW article about the tie ins from Captain America: Civil War. There will be some. I don't think your enjoyment of the movie will be TOO spoiled by watching the show though. There are events though that connect multiple marvel properties so it's inevitable it has to be brought up on Agents of SHIELD.

This article goes into the details, so you might not want to read it! lol

Bates - More interview material with Cuse, Ehrins and Highmore

http://www.tvinsider.com/article/88655/bates-motel-producers-and-star-discuss-shocking-episode-forever/

Yeah...they're being vague about everything. We just have to wait until 10. lol I just read a wiki entry on Psycho to remind myself of the story of the movie. I could've sworn I've seen it before. It's either been so long ago or maybe I only know of the famous scenes. But, in the movie, supposedly Norman killed his mother AND her boyfriend at the same time. I wonder if she is dead if Romero is going with her?

Wayward Pines coming back on th3e 25th

http://tvline.com/2016/03/03/wayward-pines-season-2-premiere-date-terrence-howard/

Shannyn will be in it some

Richard

Mike V. said...

Wayward Pines - In limited roles sounds like it'll be a further jump into the future with some possible flashbacks. But who knows? I'm sure I'll be checking it out. I'm 50/50 on this being a good idea vs. should've just let it be a limited series as intended. lol

Shield--So is Ward dead? LOL on Skye coming back and it costing someone's life. And I"m sorry, the scene with May looking over her ex was extremely weak because she's never truly valued him. I don't get how the writers can expect us to feel sorry for May.

Was this a finale?

So, the Shield people aren't going to be subject to the same rules as the Avengers? LOL, it is a comic book story and so anything is possible.

12 Monkeys--a very interesting ep. They are dealing with time travel and time as a central theme now. REally fun to watch. I like how they are making time something organic and connected--something I've not seen done before but really fun to consider.

Richard

SHIELD - I'll write more later but no this was not the finale.

Mike V. said...

SHIELD - I think they said that Lash's purpose was to save daisy and not kill Hive. So he's still alive. I don't think I feel the same way about May's relationship with her ex husband. It seemed to me they build that relationship up over the past couple seasons. May is complicated and has a painful past, but she always has loved him. Whether she sold that or not....I can't say...I think she did.

I posted a link yesterday to the tie-ins from Civil War. They basically covered it in the first 10 minutes of this episode. But yes...the Sokovia Accord seems to be playing a part in SHIELD as well. Any enhanced people are being called to be registered with the UN. But there are people on both sides of the fence in the movie and in the show. And there was a reveal about Agent Carter in the beginning of the episode...that also was revealed n the movie. (I don't consider that a spoiler since it's on the show too lol)

MJ said...

Shield - didn't watch but are they going to spoil the movie for me ??? Am avoiding your previous Shield comments since have not watched yet

Bates - no article I read was on TvLine

Wayward - cutting this one loose. Better fish to fry. I'm annoyed that they have a season 2 to begin with since all book material done already. Spring/Summer - Have Underground, OITNB, House Cards, Daredevil, Last Panthers, Night Manager all taping now to watch later. Heard good things about all so no time for Wayward. Watch Frankie and Johnnie (?correct name?) on netflix - heard good things. Taped The Family too and have not watched.

The Catch - any one watching ? Good old fashioned caper type show. Good fun - totally not serious.

Mike V. said...

Shield (Answer to MJ) - Minor plot points will be spoiled. One that you've basically seen in the trailers. (obviously there is a reason there is a CIVIL WAR between the super heroes and it impacts SHIELD as well)....the other is a plot point that factors across multiple marvel properties. So either you learn it on agents of shield or you learn it on Civil War. But it's not TOO much of a surprise. (I can't be more specific without spoiling lol)

Bates - So their responses are just different flavors of the same thing for each media outlet. lol

Wayward/Summer Binges - all good points. I may wait to read some reviews on wayward. I would like to dive into Daredevil and other stuff.

The Catch - Have heard good things. My wife was mad I hadn't told her about it so we're starting to record them. If we have time we'll catch up on streaming and then watch live.

Anonymous said...

MJ, those must be Netflix shows. I haven't heard of most of them.

Shield--so they have said they will loose a key character this year. Was the guy who died the one?

Richard

Mike V. said...

Orange is the New Black (OITNB) and House of Cards are definitely Netflix. I actually haven't heard of the other ones besides Night Manager....(which is on cable somewhere. I forget what channel)

Daredevil - More than halfway through the 1st ep of season 2. Nothing out of the ordinary so far. lol

Mike V. said...

SHIELD - Forgot to respond to this. They're still advertising in previews that someone will die in the finale next week. Well at least someone is dead in space in Daisy's future vision.

MJ said...

Night Manager (AMC I think) and Last Panthers are on regular cable. Underground is on like WGN - had great reviews. About slaves and the fight for freedom.

Wow - networks went on a cancelling spree. Shocked they cancelled Castle - I don't watch it but know they've just went thru drama with getting rid of one of the leads and they just reneded Filions contract for next year. Grinder - I liked this one but have them piling up on the DVR. Guess I can dump them now.

Supergirl - is renewed for season 2 but is moving to CW. Probably a good thing

Blacklist - ugh - now Scottie is Tom's mother ? LOL At least they didn't make it an is she or not mystery.

Americans - Poor Don. And what a novel use for hand cream - that is all I will say. I can remember watching The Day After - it was scary stuff. With every passig week Phillip seems to not want to spy for Russia more and more.

Anonymous said...

Grinder--they cancelled it? My wife and I love that show! It's great stuff.

Blacklist--Yea they're setting up a possible spin off. I'm still not 100% on Liz being dead either. Some of those close ups of Famke aren't doing her any favors btw. And it's really ridiculous that Tom and/or Red doesn't tell her about her son. And keep in mind his Dad is still alive and I'm not sure they're divorced. It's really her husband's business too.

Richard

BBT--crazy with the parents. Leonard's Mom really is hard to like. Love that the other two had their phones off.

Richard

Mike V. said...

Cancellations - I saw all the renewals and cancellations as well. Grinder, yeah we were 5 behind. I just deleted an entire season of Grandfathered too lol Grinder's ratings were incredibly low (Even though it was hilarious). I guess they're going in a new direction.

I saw Agent Carter was cancelled so I assumed they were making room for the Bobbi/Exhusband Shield show....but that got pulled as well. lol I guess we're starting to see the limits of Marvel's reach. Muppets was axed too...not surprised. I heard it got better but I couldn't keep up with it either.

New Girl - Really good finale! I don't think anyone watches anymore so no need in saying more lol

BBT - What a lackluster finale episode. Obviously it's really funny that Leonard and Sheldon's parents are shacking up but that's the cliffhanger? And they'll save the wedding for another premiere episode? So weird. That said, the ep was funny...just didn't feel very finale-ish. As for Leonard's mom...I think she's intentionally not supposed to be likable. lol

Americans - Yep another great ep. Poor Don indeed, you covered that as much as we need to. I guess I was a little too young to remember The Day After but I figured it had cultural significance for that time.

Scandal - Totally saw the Cyrus VP thing coming. And could they have done a longer slow-mo Olivia walk for the ending montage? lol Fitz knows about the abortion and didn't bring it up. She praised Olivia's "CHOICE" and it was meant to be ambiguous. Let's not forget Fitz is a republican on the show! lol Anyway, I heard this show is not open ended like Grey's so maybe we're nearing a final season. Next season will be shorter and start later due to Kerry's pregnancy #2. Let's hope they avoid having her have to hide the baby on screen like she did in season 3. It was really jarring the way they did it!

Orphan - Nice to see Krystal again...guess she's diving into the whole conspiracy stuff too.

The 100 - Still going to keep plugging this show. If anyone needs to Netflix something this summer...add this to the list. Season 3 will probably get added close to when season 4 starts. Really good show. S3 finale is next week.

MJ said...

Blacklist - not sure I remember Tom having a dad

Cancellations - SInce Bobbi is not getting her marvel spinoff they need to bring her back !

Weird that they are calling Containment and The Family cancelled - thought they were supposed to be 1 season shows. Guess like Wayward was supposed to be.

SO I can go home and delete a ton of Grinders and The Family. LOL

The Catch got renewed though

Mike V. said...

Catch got renewed yes. But Game of Silence got cancelled (deleting! lol)

Yes they definitely have to return to SHIELD. This is the 2nd time they've tried to give her a spinoff but they bring a lot to the table on SHIELD.
