Alcatraz: Season 1 Episode 4 - Cal Sweeney

Hello fellow inmates!  I'm really enjoying our visit to Alcatraz this year.  They are building up a repertoire of very memorable and highly dangerous prisoners while expanding the mystery of their reappearance in the present day.  There were a few more interesting tidbits added tonight that I'll mention below.  Let's not waste any time and dive right in.

Fringe: Season 4 Episode 10 - Forced Perspective

Hello Fringe fandom!  Another solid episode out of the Fringe factory last night.  We were back into "Myth-alone" case mode with the Fringe team tackling a case where the theme tied in very centrally to the current overarching plot of the show.  Lots of Observer talk, Olivia Death talk, Massive Dynamic/Nina drama and Peter stuff all encircling a case about a girl who could vividly see a person's death before it happens.  In my opinion, this is Fringe at its finest.  It's not an episode where the overarching plot takes leaps forward (which it will eventually), but they tell an effective story and keep us invested in overarching plot simultaneously.  And they do this all whilst continuing to have us believe in these slightly altered versions of our favorite characters (excluding Peter who is the one and only).  Pretty darn impressive if you ask me!  Anyway, let's get into it shall we?

Alcatraz: Season 1 Episode 3 - Kit Nelson

Hello TV Addicts and welcome to THE ROCK!  (when will that get old?)  I thoroughly enjoyed following our 3rd case in the new JJ Abrams drama.  The whole "prisoner/guard per week" angle may tire on some of us serial TV fans eventually, but for now it still feels fresh.  And I feel we're getting enough mythological tidbits to keep us satisfied.  Like I mentioned before, it feels very FRINGE-ish to me in the format.  The further out the show goes, inevitably the show will have to get more serialized.  We'll be too far down the rabbit hole!  So, hopefully fans stick it out and we get to see what they have in mind.   I'm going to stick to my brief recapping format for now as it provides me more time with the little one! So let's get on with it!

Catch-Up Discussions on Fringe and Alcatraz

Hello TV Addicts!  I'm finally back from my trip and am able to spend a few minutes dissecting 2 awesome shows that aired over the past week and change.  I will be brief because I have 4 hours worth of TV to cover, but I'm still open for massive amounts of discussion if need be!  I'll try to get back on schedule this coming week for Alcatraz and Fringe, but due to new and exciting changes in my life, the recaps will probably be a lot less detailed than they used to be.   I think these things just happen with getting older!  Don't ever question my obsession with television though. That will never change!

Okay, so we have 2 episodes of Fringe to cover and the first 2 hours of Alcatraz.  I'll start by saying that I loved all 4 hours of television I watched!  Fringe is a show that has finally established it's plan for season 4 and it's pretty darn awesome.  I never doubted them for a minute, but unfortunately, many fans have abandoned ship.  It's going to be another interesting winter/spring to see if some deal can be hatched to bring the show back for season 5.   Alcatraz, what a great way to start the show.  2 awesome inmates with great backstories and a definite sense of danger in the present day.  But, the whole conspiracy about how these inmates/guards disappeared and are in the present day as the same age.  That's what's going to keep me coming back.  We'll get into more details below!

TV Addicts Blog Hiatus: Fringe, Alcatraz Discussion (Sorry!)

Hello TV Addicts!  I've been pretty up front about my current situation with blogging but I just wanted to apologize again that I will not be able to post a timely recap for the winter return of Fringe (possibly next Friday's ep too) and the series premiere of Alcatraz.  I will be out of town showing off/introducing my newborn to family and friends.  I don't know about you, but I can't think of a better reason to be late on the blog posts!  Anyway, I have every intention of watching both shows and commenting on them as soon as I can.  I probably won't be back in the area until some time next weekend so it's anyone's guess when I'll get to commenting about the shows and in how much detail.  But, I WILL get to it!

But consider this posting as your place to discuss the current happenings on Fringe, Alcatraz, and any other shows you want to discuss.  Just be sure to be clear on what show you're referring to in case anyone wants to avoid being spoiled!  I will comment when I can (and if I've watched the shows), but will provide more detailed thoughts when I return from my trip.

Hope you all can forgive me and I hope the shows were both awesome!   See you when I get back!

It's a boy!!

Hello all of my virtual TV Addict friends! I just wanted to share with you the happy news that my wife and I have brought a new little TV Addict into the world. Parker Anthony V. (Gotta stick with his Daddy's blogging handle for the last name. :-)) came into the world on 12/29 at 8:33am weighing 7lbs 11oz and measuring 20.5 inches long.  So far he's sleeping through the day and keeping his parents awake in the night, but he's the most precious baby ever and I wouldn't trade him in for the world!
