TV Discussion: Summer of 2016

Hello everyone.  This is our regular place to discuss non-recapped shows.  For the summer I usually just put one post up.  If the comments get high, I will start another one.  See you in the comments!

Game of Thrones: Season 6 Episode 10 - The Winds of Winter

Hello friends and welcome to our discussion of the season 6 finale of Game of Thrones!  Wow.  What a season and what a final 2 episodes directed by Miguel Sapochnik (director of last season's Hardhome).  I don't now where this guy came from, but they should definitely get him back.   We can nitpick certain scenes and directions of the show, but with a 10.0 rating on IMDB for both episodes he must be doing something right.  And I guess we can credit Benioff and Weiss too a little bit!  Long held book theories were confirmed (at least for the show and most likely for the book), somewhat shocking events took place, there were emotional moments throughout and it was nail biting all the way to the end.  This season may have its detractors, but for not having as much of a blueprint to follow I think it was pretty fantastic.  I do question how different the book will go for certain stories (after this episode especially I imagine significantly different), but with the show trying to wrap up the story they have to make certain key decisions.  Let's discuss!

Game of Thrones: Season 6 Episode 9 - Battle of the Bastards

Hello everyone and welcome to our Game of Thrones coverage for season 6.  Put another episode 9 in the history books folks.  This one was pretty darned amazing.  It's easy to tell that HBO pulled out their wallet for this one allowing the most impressive battle imagery ever seen on TV to take place.  The episode was fantastic.  I do have a few nitpicks to address that the fandom has been discussing this season, but it doesn't take away from the visually impressive spectacle that was accomplished.  Let's dive in!

Game of Thrones: Season 6 Episode 8 - No One

Hello friends and welcome back to our Game of Thrones discussion.  This episode wrapped up some of our season plots while probably moving things into place for the finale for others.  If I had to guess I would say we're getting a single storyline next weekend but I do not know that for sure.  There were some fantastic moments in this episode and we'll discuss them all.

A quick word on book spoilers:  I haven't really had to mention this too much this season, but with this episode I feel a little more obligated.  I have read all of the books and a couple storylines have been revisiting plots from previous books.  I will only discuss what has been revealed from the book plots (calling out show differences along the way) and try my best to keep from spoiling potential future stories they may be setting up.  As always, we may dive into book discussion in the comments, but they will be noted as **Book Discussion** prior to the commentary.

Let's dive in!

Game of Thrones: Season 6 Episode 7 - The Broken Man

Hello friends and welcome back!  These seasons always seem to go fast don't they? We're 7 episodes into the 6th season now and things are getting pretty intense (as if they ever aren't)!  Lots of setup in this episode for which I have to imagine will be a pretty insane 3 episode final stretch.  Let's dive into the discussion.
