Madmen, a good ep. The Sally stuff was really great. AFter thinking on it a while, it's like at first Don thinks of her as being so much like her mother, then toward the end, he sees himself in her too. Great line about Valentine's Day and accidentally being with his daughter all day. And she knows that the stuff with Megan is on the rocks.

Pete's new girl seems to get him well--grow up Pete, life isn't fair--lol. Pete is self destructive too.

The stuff with the girls in the office was crazy--Lou and Peggy were nuts. Speaking of Peggy, last ep and this one, she's seemed out of it/not together. Joane moving into an account man's office with Roger saying what he has to say doesn't mean anything seemed ominous for him, esp combined with the elevator scene about adversaries.

It doesn't seem Roger nor Peggy want to work there any more.

Don could get a job whenever he wanted or so it seems. He didn't seem suicidal and him marking the bottle and getting dressed for his secretary to come over seemed like a man with some self respect.

Mad Men - Agree it was a solid ep! Loved the Sally/Don stuff as always.

Pete definitely has a rough life, but he brings a lot of it on himself.

The secretary rotations were hysterical and the stuff with the flowers. Lou is clearly the anti-Don and we obviously are supposed to not like him very much. But, life goes on at the office. (SCP, no more D)

Peggy and Roger both seem to be affected by the lack of Don at the office. We'll see if this continues!

Really have no idea where this show is going in terms of Don. But surely he will be in the office before the end! lol

So we've seen January and February of 69. If we continue the 1 month per episode trend (as the series basically did)...that would bring us 2 months into 1970....(I think) Not sure if the show will actually go into 70 or not. But I'm wondering if this half season will end with the Moon Landing as the backdrop. Maybe kick off the 2nd half with Woodstock.

BTW...planned on watching Orphan Black this morning, but my son had other plans! That's 1 kid. Next week it'll be 2! lol

Started ONCE too but didn't get far.

Madmen, maybe should have pointed out the obvious that the show was a lot about truth/lies/misrepresentations.

Mad Men - Yeah, while obvious, sometimes I fail to catch on that that's what they're doing. Matthew Weiner certainly loves thematic episodes! lol

Mad Men - Peggy is just a real mess! Let it go already! I felt bad for her secretary. I was impressed she kept her mouth shut about the roses. Too bad that Peggy acted like that toward her when she did nothing wrong. Doesn’t she remember how she felt when the tables were turned?

Sally and Don were awkward (but fun) to watch, but ended with a quick, but sweet moment.

Loved the secretary musical chairs and Joan getting a new office upstairs! Roger could have been more supportive. Great for Dawn for telling off Lou and then ultimately getting a promotion out of it!

Mad Men - I think my exact comment about Peggy to my wife was, "She's turning into a 'Mad Man'" lol She's basically turning into one of the guys and talking down to her suboorinates. Of course, there's the whole race card in play too. I think this arc is all a minor setback in Peggy's growth that she's done from season 1 till now. We'll see though!

Good point about Dawn getting promoted after telling off her boss. I forgot Joan was present for all of that, so it probably played into her decision.

Blacklist--my interest wasn't as great since it's been off for about a month, but a good ep.

Red knows more about Tom than he has said to Liz. Otherwise how did the Povlovich guys know where to find him and the guys Tom was with in the old building. Tom seems to be a tough agent, hard to catch.

Tom knows more about Red than thought since he has evidence on him. The Mustang commercial was a great tie in and so he made his case that he isn't necessarily a bad guy. I'm thinking the pics of Red are about him killing her Dad or something like that. It looked like Liz kept waiting for Tom to tell her that he loved her when she was interrogating him. She just can't pull being bad off in the acting world, btw--lol.

Since both of those groups seem to know each other and are after Liz in some way, it really makes one wonder about why Liz is so important. Red has always said that he's not really a good guy.

I would like to see a snapshot of Tom's board before he tore it up.

Bates - Another solid episode! Woa Norman got creepy! Can't imagine how much more psycho he can turn on at this point but I'm sure the actor has more levels of crazy he can do. It's a little twisted that Norma had revenge sex with Michael Vartan's character because her son rejected her. lol But their relationship is a little twisted as it is!

The whole Caleb/Nick Horn (is that his name? I feel like I'm making it up) was intense. And the fact that Zane's sister is allowing the hit to happen.

2 eps left! Not sure when I'll watch them with everything that's starting up next Tuesday! :)

Still no Orphan Black, but I figured I'll watch tomorrow morning.

Anyone watching Silicon Valley on HBO? Pretty hysterical. I'd expect nothing less from the brain of Office Space and Beavis and Butthead. lol

mj said...

Silicon - liking it so far

Behind on Bates and Blacklist

Finally saw Capt America. Really curious where both movies and show will go with no more shield or spies - and all their info out in the world. Duh - did not recognize Winter Soldier as Bucky right away.

Mike V. said...

Cap - I didn't recognize him either and I think I knew months ago it was him by accidentally reading a spoiler. LOL My wife figured it out. Really good movie though. I think it adds a layer of excitement to the TV show for sure. Of course, I still haven't watched lately. It's all on the TiVo for a rainy day!

mj said...

Scandal - did we ever talk finale? I wasnt impressed. FirstI hatethe double assumption that people would change their vote due to candidate helping in crisis or losing a kid. Second- why would Olivia ever really soften towards her dad as she has recently? Really?

Loved Harrison and redhead being grossed out by Huck/Quinn tho. These soaps just get so repetative. Revenge has gotten that way too

Mike V. said...

Scandal - Yeah...it wasn't too great for all the reasons you mentioned. I think they were probably limited a bit with Kerry's pregnancy. Maybe it'll improve next season. But, it's already way over the top as it is. Tough to go back and tone things down now. We'll see!

Shield, another good ep and I think there's one left this season. I wonder who May's after and calling her mother was so cute. Skye likely left clues behind about Ward, etc. I don't think she took the drive with her, maybe a copy??? Ward is certainly an operator--lol. Coulson's true love was an interesting story line.

Richard

Mike V. said...

SHIELD may be a show I catch up on this summer when everything else is off the air. Seems like the back half of the season was pretty solid.

Revolution is back tonight. And I am totally uninterested in recapping it! lol But, I'll still throw something up. :) Next week will probably just be a "discussion" post. I don't see me having time to write up really anything with all the milestone events in my non-virtual life going on!

BTW - Most renewal scorecards I see now have Revolution renewal as a "long shot".

Anonymous said...

Wouldn't blame you on REvolution.

Yea, the baby is the important deal

Blacklist - I wanted her to kick him in the b###ls after his story about how he knew she was hooked. Was proud for half a minute when she broke his thumb - except it let him escape. Every one know more then they ever say - and Red keeps more from her then any one - but he doesn't lie? Lol

Shield - Skye did pretty good pretending to Ward she did not know. Loved theCellist being brought in. They mentioned finding Maria and I know she in the finale.

Still no Bates or Orphan. lol

Revo - def can just leave to the general discussion area. Shame if not renewed - has improved

Followig - OMG! Surprising death. And I don't mean the preacher. Thought they psyched us when she wasn't dead at first. But really? Mark and Luke know where the secret meeting place betw Joe and Clare is? Really? Lol

Mike V. said...

Just watched Orphan this morning. It was good!

Revolution - You never know what they'll do. But surely they're not making money on the show. lol Pretty big budget I'm guessing for that low of ratings. I appreciate your guys' input on my recapping/non-recapping of the show!

Leslie said...

Blacklist - MJ, I felt the same way about Tom! I was surprised, but glad she broke his thumb! Surely we will find out before the season ends how Red and Liz are connected, right?

Bates - Creepy and twisted for sure! They sure have speedy trials there since that other guy was already convicted for killing the teacher! Doesn't look like the sheriff is gonna let it go. Loved Norman putting out all his taxidermy and saying that it's nature and goes with everything! lol

Mike V. said...

Whoops my bad. Looks like revolution isn't on until next week. Lol

mj said...

Bates - another side to Norman! Creepy in his enjoyment of toying with Norma! That actor really does well with face expressions. I was getting nervous for the sherriff thoygh. lol. my husband pointed out now that we know he had sex with B Norman has had sex with different women. Leslie - taxidermy goeswith everything cracked me up!

Grimm - this weeks ep title sounds amusing

Mike V. said...

Bates - agreed on the taxidermy stuff with everyone! As far as we know Norman has had sex with 3 different women/girls. Bradley, Cody and Blaire Watson. I think the reason that Bradley got on that bus this season was because she's going to be in the 4th Transformers movie. So, I guess she may be back in the future.

Grimm - Looked up the title. I'm not even sure what Trubel is but I get the pun! lol

Americans - Pretty crazy episode. Phillip is definitely getting beaten down by all the unnecessary killing happening on both sides of this war. And now he's brought the war home by taking it out on his daughter. Sounds like Beamon is getting on the scent with the murders in Virginia...I wonder if by the end of this season he'll start to suspect the Jennings again, or if it's too soon in the show's run for that.

Glad that lots of shows are wrapping up early. There's still a few going on with the traditional schedule. But hopefully soon we'll have time to catch up on all of these other shows we fell behind on. Though, with 2 kids this summer all bets are off!

There will be time for 24 I assure you of that! lol

Orange is the New Black - season 2 comes out June 6/7 wknd. It's the new cover story on EW this week. Apparently Laura Prepon (Alex and the girl from That 70's Show lol) will be in 4 episodes this season but she wants to do more in future seasons. It's all about working it out with her schedule.

The Killing - Final 6 episodes will be released to Netflix on August 1st

Leslie said...

Following - Didn't expect Emma to get it! But, really, with Joe and Ryan, I'm starting to feel like kill him already! How long can they drag this out? It appears the finale next week will be another showdown with Joe, Ryan and Claire much like last season.

Orange - Looking forward to the new season, but I still have a lot to catch up on myself!

Vikings--great ep. Horic is setting up Ragnar, much like he did Jarl. Even trying to set up Bjorn. He was a problem, but like Game of Thrones, you have to fight to take and keep the throne. Here in this dramatization with Lagertha, Horic better be careful setting up Bjorn. Of course he won't attack Ragnar or Bjorn directly.
Loved Ecbert's strategy stuff. Athelstan went back with Ragnar, I wonder how Ecbert will feel when he comes back?

Only one more Ep!

Richard

mj said...

Following - agree - feel like 'just kill Joe' but the there is no show. Lol

No americans or vikings. Am watching S1 Orphan Black. Forgot how great this show is. Want to rewatch Orange too. Read that about Killing

Longmire is back in June - think someone but me watches that.

Anonymous said...

Longmire, I watch but forgot which network?

Richard

Mike V. said...

I think it's A&E Richard. I do not watch that one.

Watching Vikings on the iPad right now as I work from home. lol

mj said...

Longmire - I believe Mike is right. A&E.

Vikings - think finale is next week already. Sheesh. Might already be answerex but keep wondering why Floki has seemed to turn from Ragnar. Husband thinks its fake though, but I don't

Mike V. said...

Vikings - Hmm...didn't even consider Floki was lying. That actually makes sense. Though, wasn't there a scene with just him and his wife to be where they discussed not inviting Ragnar to the wedding? Maybe there was someone else there in the conversation too.

mj said...

Vikes - no just them talking wedding

Black Box - any one check that out?

Anonymous said...

Vikings--Flokie doesn't believe Ragnar respects all the Vikings gods, particularly the ones Flokie feels closest to. Flokie likes the darker god's as he says in one scene. Horic and Flokie both like the darker gods and so Flokie feels that Horic is more his spiritual kin. Ragnar's relationship with Athelstan creates a barrier between Ragnar and Flokie as he has said previously--last season I think. Flokie also doesn't like Rollo being saved as he still views Rollo a traitor.

I don't think Flokie will just try to kill Bjorn or Ragnar though. I hope he comes back to being close to Ragnar as in S1. That's when Ragnar was close to Odin and could see with the crows(much like Bran--lol). Flokie saw that Ragnar was special to the gods back then.

The one Horic should absolutely not take for granted is Lagertha.
