GoT, looking forward to your post. Very busy today, just had a sec this morning. Great to be back.
Jaime's hair change reminded me of BBT's Penny--LOL!!! There's a reason though......
Richard
Shameless - why did I even think Frank was tossing that bottle ?! But I did. Loved that little surprise at the end. And all the Shiela/Sammy drama until with Frank gone and indian kids gone Sheila invites her for dinner. Thought Chucky was running thru fence for it though. Best scene was the bar - and all the gay comments to make Mickey feel comfortable. Very sad with Ian, and how did I not think of that?
Caught up to many of last weeks shows finally, now start again being behind. lol
Justified finale tommorrow! Thought close but not this week!
I'm totally behind.
I am 45 minutes into ONCE from last night.
Still haven't watched Scandal or Justified from last week or Shameless from last night. It'll be a relief when those are done!
Did anyone see the preview of THE LEFTOVERS on HBO? It's Lindelof's new show based on a book of the same name. Looks really good. And I don't carea bout all of the Lindelof Hate. I think the guy is a fantastic writer and has the chance to create another great character drama. We'll see. I think it's getting the 10pm slot after True Blood starting in June.
Shameless - I thought for a second Frank might toss the bottle but I knew it wouldn't be a season of Shameless without him taking a drink! lol Chucky has been a hysterical addition to the cast this year. I agree the bar comments were pretty funny. And yeah the Ian stuff was pretty rough. Nice to see Lip finally getting accustomed to college life and Fiona getting her stuff back together.
And I have to say...early in the season I made a comment that I think Jimmy is still alive since it was never mentioned on the show! The showrunners had said he was dead or something like that, so I assumed they would mention him being dead. But then there was no mention. The crazy thing is the cast didn't even know until they watched it air. Pretty well kept secret!
ONCE - Ahhh Green with Envy! Funny! lol Nice backstory on the witch. I'm getting a little tired of everything having "wicked" pun. lol "No, I'm not evil. I'm Wicked!!!" eeesh. The Hook/Henry stuff was sweet in its weird little way. But that actor that plays Henry still is pretty rough around the edges!
I doubt we'll catch up on Justified tonight (i.e. finish it) but maybe we'll at least watch last week's. I think Scandal's finale is coming up pretty soon too. (short season due to Kerry Washington's pregnancy)
I'll probably watch Bates this morning.
Shield--Great Ep. Ward turning bad along with Garrett. I really wanted red stripped girl to be bad, but she's dead now. I'm secretly wondering--lol--if Ward is up to something though. Tieing in with Captain America movie too.
Richard
Turn--saw pilot and was pretty good. In a way like Vikings in that a history based drama.
Richard
Turn - I do plan on watching though I read one review that was a little mixed on it.
Shield - I did see there is a tie-in from Captain America. I'm seeing the movie this weekend (probably my last outing in a long time! lol)...so maybe I'll check it out after. Granted, I've missed at least 9 episodes of SHIELD at this point. lol
Grimm - Really liked this past episode. It was entirely mythology based and finally tied the Adalind story in with the rest of what's going on. I like that we found out how Wessen know that Nick is a Grimm. But sunglasses at night? Is Corey Hart going to be singing the wedding processional tune? I'm guessing the wedding will be part of the finale this year as well as an epic showdown between the Resistance and the Royals. Shaping up to be a good time! And of course, nice to see the mother back in action.
Justified - Ugh...still a week behind on this one. We just watched last week's...hopefully we'll be able to watch the finale soon. But, I like Raylan's plan to try and get Crowe to confess to shooting Art. Also, Dewey Crowe has to be the dumbest character ever and I love him for it! lol Him confessing to his crimes while Boyd was wearing a wire had me in stitches. lol
Revolution - Just a reminder there is no new episode tonight or next week. They're are only a few episodes left so they're saving them for May Sweeps.
Shield - very good ep. Double twist. But Ward def faking. As he left he gave Coulsen look over his shoulder. Was liking Paxton's character til now.
Justified - Can't believe they got Ava out to spy on Boyd. Figured the last season would be about getting Boyd finally. Alicia Witt didsome great acting - esp since her char was supposed to be long gone by now. Rappaport was fab too - but good to see Daryl get his. Always wish Tim and Rachael did more. Poor Wynona - he's breaking his word again!
Following - don't think I said about last week but really? You have to go see Ryan cause you have information? So something you didn't share while your son was held hostage? Lol then she shows up this week and doesn't share any info. Glad Ryan not holding it against Mike. Crazy last week with hospital break but now ryan has found them. just wanted Ryan to shoot Joe already - but knew that would not happen.
Shield--I so cringed when Skye kissed Ward--yuck, crib robber--LOL.
Richard
Shield - we discussed them previously - I don't feel their ages are that far apart whereas Mae is quite older than him.
Grimm - love mom being back. And finally finding out how they know he is a Grimm. Also - how twisted it was getting with mama Grimm having killed Adalinds mom.
Shield - I haven't even watched and still think it was pretty apparent that they were planning for a Ward/Skye romance. lol
Grimm - Yeah the whole "how they all know each other" reveals were pretty funny. lol
Shield--well for there to be that romance, Ward will have to not be a member of Hydra. Kind of makes the whole Ward is bad storyline kind of fakie. But I'm holding out hope that Ward/Skye won't happen and the story won't go fakie--lol.
Grimm--Yea a great ep. The mom, how to spot a grimm, smuggling Adalind, etc. BTW a plane like that flies very slowly. Adalind's arrival timing was great with the Nick/Juliette proposal--almost corny--lol. Why would they want such a powerful wexen to exist. It's dangerous. Mom doesn't know Renard is Dad.
Richard
Grimm - Did any of us know Renard was the dad for sure before this episode? I thought we were under the assumption it was either Renard or his brother. Not sure if there has really been any paternity tests yet either to prove it either way! lol
Grimm--wasn't certain about Dad. But Adalind saying it this last ep I thought was shows way of communicating?
Richard
Grimm - That's what I assumed too. lol
Americans - Another good episode! Was it me or were we getting the early look at the Internet? lol
Grimm - I'm not assuming he really is dad yet but his brother is dead now so of course Adalind is saying he is
Shield - hoping War not hydra and hoping no romance. Lol
Vikings--a big transition ep and one with many expectations met and yet a few surprises--at least for me.
Surprises.
1. Flokie not excited about Ragnar. Of course his character parallels others which with Ecbert don't like Ecbert keeping Athelston around in high position.
2. Horic lying to Jarl up to the last. We know Horic is not trustworthy but why lie in the last hours of his life, serves no purpose really.
3. Flokie's marriage/upcoming fatherhood.
Expectations Met:
1. Lagertha joining forces. Obvious from the day she left.
2. Ecbert/Aello alliance, didn't think about the offspring marriage though.
3. Preparations for another raid.
4. Blood eagle--he said he would do this last ep. Was that awful or what?
5. Ragnar teaching his son about what is important. And very funny about which head to think with.
6. Rollo found out about Siggy, don't know if he believes her motives however.
Much more could be said, but I want to comment on the pagen v Christian and European vs Viking contrasts.
1.The stuff with Lagertha, and two different marriages was done in a way to intentionally contrast.
2. It was rare for an earle to die of old age for the same reason that Ragnar came to power--single combat challenges. So, Lagertha being an earl wouldn't last long if there are any decent ambitious warriors in that tribe. Also, the King needs to verify your earl position at some point. It was interesting that they had Ragnar say he would take her as a partner as Lagertha but not earl(insert random name--lol), she even laughed at it too. Ragnar trusts her-bottom line and that also protects her. She's smart. Very unique situation.
3. There was a definite preference given to the pagen vs Christian religion in this ep. I sure don't recall my marriage vows being that lopsided--lol.
4.Ultimately those in power made the rules--especially apparent back then when the heads of power changed so much/drastically. One reason why Charlemegne was so important to much of history.
Ragnar seen watching everyone at the celebration shows us how smart he was, what it took in addition to fighting to win at the top.
AFter this ep I think if the series keeps going we will see the second generation come to power, including the effects of Ragnar's unborn son and results of prince/princess wedding.
Any bets if Bjorn gets with that girl? What's missing here is that he and Ragnar should have a discussion about Bjorn marrying a daughter of another earl/King he wants as an ally. Bjorn's at a good age to help negotiate pacts, much as done in Europe. We saw this with Siggy's daughter.
Richard
BBT--good ep. They had a reference to GoT. CBS to HBO, lol.
Richard
That's a lot of info on Vikings! lol All good stuff. I just watched this morning and I was just happy that I called Lagertha bringing her dead husband's mean to join forces with Ragnar.
Definitely a good episode and I can totally see them eventually following future generations. But, for now, it seems like there is plenty of Ragnar story to tell.
Definitely interesting with Floki not being happy with Ragnar. Surely, there will be repercussions there.
I would assume Bjorn will "get with" that girl at some point. Whether or not that prevents him from getting in an arranged marriage down the line, is yet to be seen. I guess just 3 episodes left now, right ?
Didn't see BBT yet. Didn't see Justified finale yet. Watched LAST WEEK's Scandal but not last night's. YIkes...can't keep up!
Vikings - I'm 2 behind now so will marathon this weekend.
Bates - saw a promo of clips of what is to come - looks tense. Fr last week- what was the deal with Dylan just letting that car hit him? And this week - thought he'd lose it when she stopped him fr taking that road test. But he really does freak when hiding in closet and when Emma has her breathing issues.
Hannibal - loved Jack taking the appetizers to go. ha!
Bates - I didn't get why Dylan let the car hit him either. Seemed stupid to me! The actor who plays Norman is really good! He has these little subtle expressions and these crazy eyes! Vera playing Norma is good, too. Both do crazy really well!
Following - Felt bad for the girl who left Joe to go with the woman and her sons. Completely blank on names at the moment! But, really, did she think she could just say she wasn't gonna tell where Joe was and it would be okay? And, it doesn't seem like Claire has any big ideas except to kill Joe once and for all. Well, that's Ryan's plan already! lol
Resurrection - anyone watching? Haven't seen this week's episode yet, but it's kinda interesting.
Mike - Are you on baby watch yet? Don't remember exactly when Shanna is due.
