Last week's Wayward - I agree with what you said. Cause Ethan gave him his file and now Peter remembers how much he forget he wants to die so he doesn't have to be there any more? Huh ? Ethan ain' getting out. Dying to know why they want him here so much. Was it me or was the Mayr actually warning Theresa to be afraid of his wife ?? Boy without a shirt ? I thought we saw the 'alien' again.

The Returned - I let this sit on my DVR for weeks and weeks and I have to say - I liked it. Just watched them all this week. They were mean where they ended the season - hoping it gets a second season.

Penny Dreadful on Showtime has been excellent this year. Last season (1st) was good but S2 had been great !

Oops - forgot to comment on last week's you started watching Daredevil. I also did no know Jess from TB was on the show. Weirdly I was watching The Returned - american version - and 2 peeps from TB are on that. LaFayette's Bruja boyfriend and the crazy chick from S2 oe 3 with the Bull fetish (hated her whole story line) - or Ensign Roe from STNG. LOL

Returned - Funny I assumed no one was watching so I just deleted the whole season off of my TiVo! I ran out of space! lol I probably would've never gotten to it.

Still have Wayward recorded. We'll see if I can get to it. MJ/Richard, anyone else has it been worth watching?

Daredevil - Nice on the TB cast recycling. I'm almost done the 3rd episode. Been a little sidetracked the past few days. :)

OITNB Friday!

Wayward Pines and GoT are the only TV shows I record now. So, yes WP to me is worth it. I especially like that I can trust the show runners since it's a miniseries already in the can so to speak. It's a serialized TV drama, possibly scifi story that to me could be paced faster as my only criticism. But, I'm naturally impatient and partly for the same reason of pacing/wasted time didn't like certain GoT eps this year. Tomorrow nights ep is supposed to have some big time reveals we've been waiting for. So, is ep 5 out of 10 for that stage slow, maybe not?

One thing is for sure, I love that you can't count on anyone not being killed. Characters you tought were in it for the long run have already been taken out. So, I love that it has HUGE surprises and is very brave on taking out actors that are big screen actors.

WP - yeah it's been good.

Daredevil - Since I knew I would not watch quickly I had saved some stuff from articles and links and such. Looked at them last week when I completed. I've saved them for you once you are done.

OITNB - I will probably wait a week or so. I still have to watch the Kevin Spacey one (name eluding me at the moment)

Falling Skies will be back soon too.

Whispers - not too bad. Kinda creepy. Decent mystery so far.

Aquarius - dumped it. Just a cop show

MJ said...

iZombie - just eneded - was a very fun show. Light and snarky

Mike V. said...

WP - ok, i'll try to get to it! But I'll have to pick between that and Orphan Black to be after daredevil. lol

Daredevil - Thanks! I estimated incorrectly in my last post. I actually am done 6 episodes now and onto the 7th. I've been enjoying it. I thought Rosario Dawson looked familiar but was surprised she actually signed on to a recurring/starring role in the show. Fisk set hells kitchen on fire and our hero escaped leaving the russian guy to an ambiguous end. I mean, he probably died but it was off screen so you never know!

OITNB - You're referring to House of Cards. We're still at 3 done in the 3rd season and are definitely more excited for Orange so we'll probably put it on hold.

Falling Skies - can't believe that's still on!

iZombie - I heard about it but it was too late. CW has been getting some credibility lately with their shows. Of course iZombie was a Rob Thomas show and he was behind Veronica Mars (which I also didn't watch). Still hearing really good things about The 100. 1st season is on Netflix so I may go back and watch and catch up when S2 gets added.

I'm looking forward to Last Ship coming back. I'll check in on Falling Skies but kind of lost my interest some last year.

I think I need to spend more time on the boat this summer--lol.

Wayward - totally forgot to mention - how hysterical that within an hour of killing the Sherriff Ethan is made sherriff and they have a newspaper headline welcoming him, announcing Pope 'retired' and a cake ! I don't watch previews but heard that we are going to get a big reveal this week.
The teacher being a hypnotherapist was bery interesting.

Falling Skies - this is the final season as a matter of fact. It's changed alot

Last Ship - yeah this was good summer fun.

CW - yeah iZombie hits just the right notes. 100 - watched the first few and didn't like it but I've also heard it got good. Just like Arrow - wasn't thrilled with it early on so dumped it. Too much other stuff at the time.

Netflix - I've watched a few Better Off Ted - forgot how funny that show was.

Mike V. said...

Better Off Ted - I loved that show. I don't think I ever finished that second season. Still funny I thought that guy was the same dude that was on Episodes and now Silicon Valley. lol

Definitely too much stuff on in general. I'm flying through Daredevil so I may have time to fly through Orphan Black and Wayward...then maybe I'll hit up 100. I still have Outlander recorded from way back in the fall till present...and I've been hearing good things. (I think even GRRM himself is giving it praise lol) Just too much to watch.

The Mrs. and I are trying to catch up on TVD right now (I know you gave up on it, MJ. We may do the same after finishing this season. But we want to at least finish throught he Elena chapter lol) That may get put on a backburner for OITNB though!

EW Links - Not sure if you noticed but you require a subscription to get to some of these articles now. I do have a subscription but the login doesn't work at work! Anyway...i'll keep sharing links. lol

WP--what a great ep. I'm not sure I buy the story about what's going on. But, it sure looked real. And the 2000 years doesn't seem like enough time for those abbies to have evolved. Where this goes now could be crazy. There's 5 eps left and I"m trying to figure out the story they want to tell, where it will end up.
Lots more to say will do later.

WP - holy crap ! I have to watch that episode again. LOL My mind was like blown away from all that info. I don't even know what to say. LOL

Mike - 5 eps in on Wayward - and it's going off for 2 weeks ! You def have a shot at catching up on this one.

MJ said...

OITNB - the premiered a night early ! I still think I will wait a few days to even start it.

Mike V. said...

OITNB - We watched 2 last night, the minute twitter announced it to us. lol

Wayward - Nice! I have 4 eps left of Daredevil so I'll plan to watch it next.

Daredevil - Foggy found out what Matt's been up to. Now they've started having their heart to heart. (I just keep watching until my workout is over then pause....so I'm always mid episode lol I'm at home today so I might be able to put it on for 1 or 2 eps.

WP--WOW and AMAZING are 2 words that come to mind. Sure didn't expect that evolution would come into it. And so we may not have time travel but hibernation chambers. That actually may explain the "aging differences" because different people were awakened at different times. AND maybe they go back into the chamber for a certain number of years and reemerge? I recall Pilcher working with a pine tree genetic splice an ep back. It made me wonder if genetics would come into play. Seems like it has.

I think we have at least 2 possibilities.
1. That 4028 and the stories behind it are true--I'm leaning about 2/3rds this direction.
2. That there's a lot of deception going on and this is all an elaborate ruse of some type.

But, it seemed to have eliminated aliens.

How has Pilcher not aged, is that guy NOT the original Pilcher? Again, maybe he has been in and out of the hibernation chambers to delay aging? Maybe he's a genetic copy, just don't know for sure right now?

What's the purpose of the 1st generation? Are they supposed to repopulate the Earth now?

I'm not sure where Ben's head is, but he's got to be torn in different directions.

I"m a bit of a car nut, so I've noticed that most of the cars seem to be from the 90s+ in the garage and on the roads. HOWEVER that helicopter was a newer version. These are the kinds of clues that make me wonder whether I"m just too detailed in my observations or is there something going on. For example, there's no way any of those cars could have lasted for 2000 years. And nobody mentioned an auto hibernation chamber. I mean the rubber would fall apart after about 10 to 15 years. I faced that with some of the classics I've had. So, how do they keep getting all the parts and that NEW looking helo if they're the only ones left?? Also, we know food is brought in through the mountain. Where's that come from? These kinds of things make me doubt the 4028 story. But, I may be looking too hard??

Is this an island? The kids sending Theresa and Ben to Wayward Pines are a clue too.

One thing is for sure, the Abbies are for REAL. I wonder if Ethan's scratch will turn into something more than normal?

MJ, btw. What's the deal with the dress Lisa wears. I kind of like it, couldn't get my wife to look at it last night. But, it's hem is higher in the front and lower in the back.

Richard

MJ said...

Daredevil - oh the ep where Foggy finds out was pretty intense.

WP - so the kids are told the truth - that it's 2000 years into the future and some humans have evolved into these 'Abbies' - and adults can't handle knowing the truth. And that all these people were in stasis or something until they are awakened ? So why not just awaken the kids? If they are the future why bother to awaken any adults ?? Good question on the kids. She kinda hinted that there is no survival - the abbies are what man became. This school focus's on the arts it seems - so do they expect the 'first generation' to become a more civilized abbie ? Isn't Pilcher the same guy that was Ethan's shrink at home and in WP ? Good point about the cars - they would not survive 2000 years. Maybe they are re-building them some how ? They do seem to all get there by car accident to help explain why they don't remember being awakened from stasis. Didn't notice the dress. Can't believe it;s off for 2 weeks now !

Anonymous said...

WP, Yes Pilcher is the same guy that used another name as the shrink.

It's really only skipping one Thursday, back on the 25th. Which, is of course a 2 week span--lol. Kind of like missing Church, one day can mean two weeks.

I'm thinking they only have enough assets to support a certain sized population and that they want this to roll out with the children in a controlled slow way so that the children who are on board can "help" the newbies.

I'm going to have to rewatch and see if we see #1, 2 and 3 now that they've aged OR NOT?? They seemed younger than the oldest kids in the school.

BTW, with the way that world is supposed to look you couldn't get parts to repair those cars. I mean even the parts would have gone bad with age. And for sure gasoline is really only good for 6 months or so(without ethanol that is). So, where's the refineries, etc.

Some holes yet to be filled in or possibly I"m just being too realistic--lol.

Richard

MJ said...

WP - probably just being too realistic. LOL TVline.com has an interview with the show runner - was pretty good. talks of the differences between the books and the show. So don't read it if you ever plan on reading the 3 books.

MJ said...

WP - forgot to say - I'm sure we stil have more twists to come. DOn't think we know all yet. So this whole thing could be a lie. This could all be some sort of psychological test

Anonymous said...

WP, MJ I posed below the TVline article, thanks for heads up. LOL on maybe a S2. But, liked that it will be complete in 10 eps.
I did not realize it was based on a trilogy of books.

Wayward PInes--I checked on the book stuff and there's not much there. I learned something Ethan does and won't share it. But, it's not surprising given his past actions.

They say Blake leaves you wanting a fourth book when you're done with the third.

Leftovers - Season 2 Teaser. I'm sure some people are out on it but the premise sounds intriguing.
