Ugh, what a night. Reality struck as my son refused to go to sleep last night! lol He had a 2 hour nap late in the day so that screwed us. Other shows I'd be okay with being on while he's awake but not Walking Dead...and we even skipped Homeland.

So with that, I watched ONCE and Brooklyn 99 (hysterical, but I saw the twist coming a mile away)!

ONCE - I know no one is really watching anymore, but I did find it funny that Rumple turned the Sorceror's Apprentice into a mouse. lol And of course, Will Scarlett was drunk on Macutcheon's!

Blacklist--I've heard there's a HUGE reveal starting tonight. I don't want to spoil it for you guys, but from what I heard it could be a big deal.

BTW, I wouldn't expect it to be the Liz/Red deal since the show should run many more years and I wouldn't expect to get that for a few more years yet.

Sorry you had such a rough night. TWD was a good one - you'd better stay off the net today.

Blacklist - yeah they are going to drag out the Red/Liz stuff for a long, long time.

Mike V. said...

lol MJ...i accidentally already saw something in your guys' comments...but that's my own fault! I'm pretty busy so I should be good for the rest of the day.

Hopefully I can get to blacklist tonight richard! Huge backlog from my issues last night lol

ONCE - I watch this occasionally. I'm watching it now because Juliet is in it. While I was annoyed by the whole Frozen ball of wax, now I'm getting a kick out of all the shout outs to Disney. Sorcerer's Apprentice, The walking broom, can Cruella de Vil be far behind?

mj said...

Affair - any one watching? Finally watched last weeks premier - it was pretty interesting

Mike V. said...

Affair - Recorded both, but haven't had time to watch. I've heard mixed things but I am intrigued by the format. Plus, I like the actors involved.

ONCE - I enjoyed the Disney shout-outs as well. Did you notice the couple in the italian restaurant kissing through a strand of spaghetti? Lady and the Tramp, of course! lol

I'm over the Frozen aspect of it too. It feels very forced from a corporate perspective. I do like Elizabeth Mitchell's involvement int he arc though and that they're referencing the Snow Queen tale as well (which Frozen was based off of but took on a life of its own).

Blacklist - Believe it or not I stayed awake for ALL of the Blacklist last night! lol Good episode, though I'm not sure all that much was revealed for the ongoing saga. I'm sure Richard will prove me wrong. lol My wife and I both commented on how ill-timed the theme of the episode was with the current hot topic sweeping the world! I guess Red did find the girl that may or may not be his daughter. He also asked Lizzy who told her that she was his daughter. He never confirmed it was.

Homeland - This show is officially getting ridiculous. That whole final scene was suggested in the previews last week and I was hoping it was misleading. NOPE! If this character (Carrie) had any shred of believability left, it is all gone. Oooh and I bet Quinn is gonna get jealouuuuuus!!! lol What a disaster. I'll keep watching of course, but it's a pretty painful experience right now.

Blacklist - agree no big reveal. I think that will be next week by the promos. Strange i watched another show last week with a disease theme too. Timing is everything. Surprised you did not mention the Fringe guy - the one fr the book store. Strangely I just saw him in something else. He's the only one, besides Liz, to be disrespectful to Red and get away with it

Homeland - I wanted to say Carrie you are no Mrs Robinson. Ick. Show def not what it used to be.

Affair - there are differences in the telling. Like they are both telling how they met and who initiated what changes. Even what she wore changed. very interesting

Mike V. said...

Blacklist - I noticed the Fringe guy too. I was trying to remember where else I saw him as well. Maybe it was Sleepy Hollow?? Speaking of...didn't get to that last night.

Homeland - Glad I'm not the only one noticing!

Mike V. said...

Fringe Guy - Might have been Gotham too..lol I started Gotham last night but didn't finish.

I would've watched Sleepy or Gotham this morning but I was sucked into X-Men: Days of the Future Past which I just got and didn't get to the theater to see. VERY good!

Anonymous said...

Gotham--not a bad ep, show continues and with more emphasis on Bruce getting involved. BTW, does anyone suspect the nerd lab guy working for the cops will become a major villain, or is it just me?

Blacklist--I will confess that I was disappointed in the reveals and then thought about what they were. We didn't expect Red/Liz, but I thought we'd get what's behind the door. BTW, did you notice the voice over said what not who's behind the door--lol? But, Liz's feelings for Red was a reveal in that she's been acting like they didn't exist. Samar's possible feelings for Amar(some have said she's lezzie for Liz). Liz's feelings for a normal life/baby and thoughts of Tom(didn't we think she was over him OR NOT--we shall see). Am I the only one who calls BS on that one after her destructive nature toward's baby and husband last year??? The biggest reveal of course was the girl, is she Jennifer or Berlin's daughter. The age thing points to it being Jennifer but the plot line points to Berlin's daughter. In the TV world anything is possible.

BTW, I laughed when I saw the guy in the hazmat suit taping the doors shut and there was a HUGE gap under the door left open while Liz and Samar were in the room together. Makes me realize I am way too detailed on this show. It's not perfect--lol.

And yes, to take care of the pneumonic plague in a day doesn't make sense, reminds me of 24--lol

Richard

Mike V. said...

Gotham - Richard, I haven't finished the episode but are you referring to Edward Nygma?? In case you didn't know, that is the Riddler's actual name. lol His name was dropped in the pilot so we know this is the riddler's origin story in the GOTHAM tale.

Blacklist - I'll defer to you on the daughter conspiracies but makes sense it could be either. LOL on Lezzie for Liz. lol But yeah there was some 24-like precautions being taken with that outbreak... I was laughing at how slowly she closed the door in the first place...like it already wouldn't have made it out into the open! lol But I didn't notice the crack at the bottom of the door. Good times. Yep, sometimes we just need to suspend our disbelief!

Of course, whenever a scene like that happens where the main character of any show puts themselves in life threatening danger, I always say to my wife, "I didn't realize we were watching the series finale tonight." lol...last night was no different in our house!

MJ said...

Sleepy - darn them - they went and gave him a bunch more clothes ! I want him in a leather duster. LOL Too funny when Ichabod had no clue that lady liked him. But boy was he mad at Katrina that she'd kept yet another secret from him. And what is with this town ? A woman 'drowns' in the library and the paramedics don't even wonder ? LOL But Ichabod remembering the lace def had me rolling my eyes. But what the heck is a hellfire shard ? Scene with Henry and Molloch was good though.

mj said...

Blacklist - I agree BS. Liz had little or no interest in the kid last year. I think you just had the wrong date - reveal looks to be next week

MJ said...

Homeland - besides the horror that is Carrie other parts of the show were not so awful. Quinn creeping around that apartment was - well - creepy. LOL And the whole thing with the Ambassadors husband I did not see coming. Maybe just me - but did not see it coming that the kids uncle is actually not even dead.

Mike V. said...

Homeland - Good points on the positives of the show. I didn't see that coming either with the uncle.

Leslie said...

Blacklist - Speaking as someone living in the Dallas area, definitely unfortunate timing on the plague for those that are overly freaked out! Liz is much darker this season. Good job with her fooling the guy following her. BS on the baby thing for sure.

Bridge - MJ, did you hear this got cancelled? I recorded, but never watched last season, so now I don't feel like I missed out.

Murder - MJ, did you see last week's episode? The ads for the episode were referring to the last nine words spoken by Viola Davis, and boy, definitely not a question a man wants to get asked! LOL!

Anonymous said...

Scorpion was good and developing. And my wife likes it--lol. I bet we see the crazy guy again. He's just a natural trouble maker.

Leslie, btw my sister lives in Dallas and it is bad timing.

Forever, a decent ep that's just fun to watch. Interesting dinner conversation.

SHIELD - I actually opted for this this morning instead of Sleepy Hollow (Tomorrow morning it is...AHS I'm falling behind and not caring but I'll try to catch up). Pretty good episode! It's getting more fun and that's definitely a sign of the new blood joining the ranks. Andrianne Padilicki? (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) is joining the team? That's awesome! Sucks for About a Boy, but great for SHIELD. She was awesome on Friday Night Lights and hasn't had much success since then....they tried to make her the next TV Wonder Woman but it failed miserably and didn't even make it past the pilot phase. lol Anyway, she's badass on the show and it's a nice layer adding the divorced couple to the team. And Simmons is back where she belongs. Good stuff. And Skye is an alien??? Interesting.... All around good stuff.

SOA - I got really nervous for Bobby in those final moments...especially letting him sing in the final season in a car near the end of an episode. I just started thinking...oh boy is this is swan song?? And it might be...but of course Sutter already semi-spoiled episode 9 as a big episode. Will it be him? Someone else? All we know is it's not Juice. And at least his story is getting somewhat more interesting with them putting him in prison to take out Lin. I guess he's the new Otto. lol The Jewish Porn? "Bagels and Breasts" or whatever it was? Hysterical. And of course the big news....Gemma confessed to Thomas and Abel overheard all because Jax was vague with an assignment to the cabin. A lot of people have pieces of evidence that aren't adding up. It's going to be interesting how it all comes together. I did like that the episode started at the JT memorial (assuming this is the location where he died in the "accident"). Judging from the preview (which I know not everyone watches), I'm guessing I'll be satisfied that this is getting pulled into the final story arc as it should be.

mj said...

Murder - i gave it up but did read those 9 words. lol

Bridge - no I did not read that! It was a good season but its ok if they go

Gracepoint - watched pilot. was good but almost exactly the brit one so giving it up. Have too much to watch to basicly rewatch what I've already seen

Shield - Skye as an alies is hysterical. when her dad would get angry he seemed to always be standing in front of green glass so he'd have a green glow. Mean something? Thats whoshe is! She had some serious heels on or he mes of shield are shrimpy. she was taller almost all of them. now we know all the ex talkvwas not just bonding - well played Shield

Scorpion - I kinda liked the guy too. Whothe heck goes to a beach a few miles from a nuclear plant?

MJ said...

TVD - I stopped watching years ago but seriously - they are giving her another doppleganger. LOL thank god I quit that one.

Bates - the chick from Revolution (Charlie) you all hated is coming to Bates. LOL

Mike V. said...

TVD - Hmmm didn't hear that yet, but I know she's going to appear on ORIGINALS (which i don't watch)...maybe that's what you heard. lol

Bates - I saw a tweet that someone was coming, didn't know who. That's funny. lol I really thought she improved in season 2, and she was good on Episodes too. So I think it was more the character than anything!

SHIELD - MJ were you getting autocorrected there? I had a hard time figuring out some of what you were saying. lol The green glow...hmmm maybe he has some HULK drugs in him. He turns green when he's angry. But, then would he be alien too?? hmmm.....and yes..she was super tall in comparison to everyone. May have to imdb that!

mj said...

Shield - I guess i was. Lol. Figured we already have a Hulk so is there another meaning for green lighting? Yeah - only guy taller then her was mechanic guy. Shield spoiler.......

Apparently she is Mockingbird - what ever that is

Mike V. said...

SHIELD - is that a spoiler? I saw that everywhere as headlines today. I just assumed she probably said it, but maybe not. lol

Mike V. said...

SHIELD - Ahh her name being Barbara Morse is why people know she's Mockingbird. lol

http://marvel.com/universe/Mockingbird

Mike V. said...

SHIELD - Love all my separate posts? This could be a case where she might have a Marvel contract and be pulled up into the big leagues for a future Avengers film or something. She has been in some films, so it's not unreasonable to think so.

Not sure if everyone has been reading all this crazy Marvel stuff going on with the CIVIL WAR plot coming to the MCU (Marvel Comics Universe).....it sets up opportunities to put the Heroes at odds with each other and allow them to be villains in other people's movies....i.e. Iron Man being a prominent figure in Captain America 3.

Anyway, if there truly is a civil war, they're going to need more characters....so these minor league players might get a call up eventually. Crazy how thought out this stuff is that they're doing and the fact that they're able to pull it off.

Mike V. said...

one more clarification MCU is actually Marvel "CINEMATIC" Universe! Makes a little more sense. :)

Mike V. said...

Game of Thrones - 8 debunked rumors about season 5. though some have been reworded as bad rumors to state the actual truth. lol

I will give this a "mildly" spoilerish warning since it does give vague reference to plots, settings and characters (no mention of the actual character) that might never see the light of day in the TV show.

http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/10/22/game-of-thrones-rumors/

The bonus 8th one once again reiterates the point of 10 episodes per season and why it's the showrunners who don't want to (or are physically unable to) do more. lol

Mike V. said...

Sleepy - Watched last night. Funny on the new clothes. Good point about the paramedics...I didn't even question it. lol Hellfire shard?? No idea!!

Relatively entertaining episode still.

AHS - Finished last week's episode and started this week's ep. (only 20 minutes in which means I have an hour left...DAMN YOU FX!!) It's good and creepy, but I might be getting over my appeal for the show. lol

Yea, that's what I've been saying that the HBO world is speeding up while the new books aren't here. They're covering a lot of material, ie one reason why so many good plotlines are done for. Plus they likely recognize the need for action from 2 books that can't compete with the 3rd on that score.

10 eps. You know my feeling, it's a matter of resources and so could be done. It's likely that the show runners want to be involved at an indepth level and so don't feel comfortable delegating something they believe is key.

Doesn't look like we're going to see a resurrection. Which in some ways takes away some of the mythology not just the character.

Richard

Mike V. said...

You're not the only one saying it about the moving forward. But, I think they're doing what's in the best interest of the material and trimming the fat. I don't think they're cutting things out just to make it all fit in 10 episodes. They could milk this stuff for all it's worth but they're trying to greate a quality 7 season saga. We'll see what happens when they're dealing with the lack of book material.

10 episodes - you know my feelings too. There are so many moving parts, multiple countries of productions (no way they're micromanaging the whole thing) post production timelines, that they feel the quality would suffer adding additional episodes.

You can't say that the quality of this show is replicated on any other show on television. They are producing movie-quality effects for the most part at 10 hours a year. Blockbuster movies average 2.5 hours and they get more than a year!

Anonymous said...

Just because I can say it, doesn't mean it's true--LOL

It is good quality and the last season with less gratuitous nudity helped a lot.

Yea, they're looking at one season each for the next two books. But, hey if they finish before Martin, that means Martin could more easily justify 3 more books!!

Richard

SOA - OMG - Gemma confessed to little Thomas and Abel hears it. This will not be good. i too was very fearful for Bobby. Surely they could not have planned that cause they could not know Bobby would be driving that road at that time as it was spur of the moment. But how funny was that whole thing with the guys being afraid of Gemma, then Gemma fearing why she was going to the cabin.

Got confused that Nero tells Jax to buy him out but then goes to the head Mayan to buy his half. Had to laugh - Sutter just had to give his wife one more song to sing. But that one line - foreskin to the ground or some such thing - I could not then get that out of my head ! LOL But their plan of 'suicide' for him was really dumb since they'd shot him.

But was really surprised by them using Juice to kill Lin. When he was put in solitary at first I thought it was Unser trying to put a stop to what the club was doing to Juice - but it wasn't.

Bates - she def was funny on episodes. Theya re also bringing on some guy from Mad Men. I don't know him from MM but do recognize him from other things

Shield - I saw the one pic today so just wanted to assume it could be spoilery. I'd never heard of Barbara Morse nor Mockingbird so I did not put that together. LOL

We'll see if they continue to pull it off with new Cinematic opportunities. I still say they are committing overkill.

Ahs - yeah - I'm not loving this years eps so far.

Forever - finally gone back to some mythology. Very interesting this week.

Mike V. said...

GoT - lol touche'. Judging by Martin's progress on this series and how it started off as a trilogy, I would not be surprised if it went more than 7 books. He just writes and writes and if it gets too large, then he'll make the decision to break it up into more books. Hopefully he's past his logistic issues and is writing towards people coming back together and towards a finale.

SOA - The guys being afraid of Gemma was hilarious, I agree! Did Jax agree to buy Nero out?? I just assumed that conversation didn't work out in his favor so he went to the Mayans. I didn't notice at the time it was Katy singing at the end, but did read about it. Yeah that makes sense. Did not hear that lyric! lol Yeah, the suicide job seemed botched.

Bates - Didn't see that casting...I'm sure I know him from Mad Men. I'll check it out.

SHIELD - I didn't know either! I'm just saying that if they named her Barbara Morse then Marvel fans would immediately know who that would be...hence it's common knowledge for the media to get out there. lol
At this point Marvel can do no wrong...but I agree...nothing lasts forever! The Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer leaked early ("leaked"...I'm sure it was intentional even though they probably were aiming to draw more eyes on SHIELD next Tuesday) and it looks pretty solid. Spader as the voice of Ultron seems like a good fit even if I don't know the whole Ultron story! lol

Mike V. said...

Bates - ahh yes Kevin Rahm. Didn't know his name but agree he's been in tons of stuff.

http://tvline.com/2014/10/22/bates-motel-kevin-rahm-season-3/#

Anonymous said...

Scorpion--will the Dad get off and will they find out about the guy in the wheel chair being a fake and responsible for mother's death

Richard

mj said...

I know absolutely nothing about Ultron except its part of the title. Lol

Flash - finally watched a couple. Exactly what you would expect. Actor playing his step dad just does not age! Looks just like he did years ago on Homocide (dating myself now).

Grimm back tonight! Yay! Will also check out Constantine

Mike V. said...

Grimm - Excited too! Haven't heard much about Constantine yet outside of the previews which I vaguely paid attention to. lol Just don't think I have time!

Anonymous said...

Grimm--yea looking forward to it's return. I hope they don't do this Nick has no powers thing for many eps.

I didn't like the new girl grimm at all.

I expect Adalade to back to her evil self--lol. She fits the profile pretty well. Actually I think everyone is cast very well except Nick's girlfriend and the new grimm. There's been many complaints about Nick's girlfriend.

Richard

Mike V. said...

Grimm - Yeah, just like they didn't do a whole season of Juliette with amnesia right!? lol Surely, they can't do a whole season of Nick with no powers. But a few episodes might be an interesting twist on the same tale. Granted...it's kind of ripping off the final season of CHUCK where Morgan got the intersect in his head and Chuck had to try and be a real spy with no extra powers. That arc went on longer than the fandom wanted considering it was the final season.

I'm not a big fan of the new girl either, but I certainly can understand why people aren't big Juliette fans. She doesn't bother me too much though.
