Hello TV Addicts! This is Mike V. of the Lost Addicts Blog among others. I’ve mostly stopped writing recaps regularly, but please join our discussion posts for all things TV, occasional recaps (Hello There Obi-Wan!) and search the archives for Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Fringe and several other shows over the years!
I'll try to get to it (Manifest). Still haven't even finished Timeless! Enjoying Umbrella Academy. Feels like a more intense (i.e. Netflixy) version of Heroes Season 1. Not sure what that says for any attempt at a season 2. lol
Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (MMM, 3M, M cubed?) - The mrs and I started this one. We're 2 eps in and we LOOOOVE it. lol I had no idea what the show was about. It's hilarious. Amy Sherman Palladino (writer/showrunner) could go toe to toe with Aaron Sorkin and Kevin Williamson in the dialogue department. Lots of words in a small space of time. lol
Reality TV Corner (Where are you Leslie? lol I'm typing this more for myself than anyone else! Since I don't do the Idol blog anymore):
Voice - Kelly still rocks. The cross battle rounds are interesting. No talent really standing out to be right now.
Idol - Alejandro probably will win. He's crazy talented. But there are some pretty solid singers this year. I'll say I enjoy watching The Voice more due to the people involved, but Idol may have the better singers this year. Here's my rank (I don't have these names memorized. I copy pasted from a site lol):
Rank 1. Alejandro Aranda 2. Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon (Also crazy talented) 3. Laci Kaye Booth (not sure if her voice would get annoying for multiple songs in a row. Definitely stands out and has a unique sound.) 4. Uche (great performer. Great voice) 5. Madison Van Denburg (Better than I thought she was. The comparison to K.C. turned me off, but the fact that she’s dismissing it and wanting to blaze her own path helps. Lol) 6. Walker Burroughs (He should get back behind the piano. The Sound of Music performance was meh. But he’s done some really good stuff) 7. Laine Hardy (The girls will keep him in this race for awhile. He’s good. But is he gonna stick to the classics the whole time?) 8. Dimitrius Graham (Knew he’d be in top 10. But, he doesn’t really stand out to me) 9. Wade Cota (I just don’t get this guy. He barely can sing. Just has an interesting tone/rasp to his voice) 10. Alyssa Raghu (I think other people should’ve gotten in instead of her. And she only got in because she sang a Katy Perry song. Lol)
MMM - it's been on my list for years. Heard great things Think about a woman trying to be a stand up comedian ?
Deadwood - got a few more eps watched. Rich lady trying to get off the drugs, Trixie helping her and the kid. Actress from FTWD (Kim something) has finally appeared. Been good so far. Calamity Jane cracks me up !
Deadwood - calamity Jane was actually Juliette’s sister in lost. The one that was sick. Even ftwd girl was on lost too. She went on an adventure with Kate in a flashback lol. Those deadwood stars got a lot of mileage! But they were great on that show first!
