Hello fellow TV Addicts! Well, it's been a crazy TV Season, but things aren't really slowing down this summer. We found plenty to discuss last summer with our unofficial "LOST Rewatch". But, I'm sure we will have something to talk about this summer as well. With Game of Thrones discussion, there are book readers in the discussions but we are mindful of TV Only watchers and will precede any book discussion with a "Spoiler Warning" or a "Book Stuff" warning! Mike V, It's no surprise to me that people new to "Lost" have sought you out. Try to imagine if we had had internet in the days of the original "Star Trek."
You give the straight talk and that, my friend, is hard to come by.
"Dome" is still just a summer fling, we don't bother recording it, even though we fall asleep before the ending. No great loss. Enjoying the popcorn during the first 1/2 hour.

Yeah, the black easter egg with pink designs was ... um ... interesting. Is it related to seizures, or nothing? weird and "veddy insetinning".
Dome--any bets Alice comes back to life--that egg looking thing was glowing? "the kiss" was gross and made me wonder if she was going to die.
Big Jim taking out the guard and the other violence makes survival an issue. Great to see him defend the girl.
Barbie and Julia, it's about time.
Joe and Norrie are getting things figured out. The dome is certainly interactive with those inside even to the point of reading their minds.
Since MOAB didn't work, I wonder what the rest of the world is doing?

Scandal - Watched 3 more episodes. I saw it coming but was still shocked. Fitz killed the Supreme Court Justice to keep his presidency! Looks like his hands aren't clean anymore. And of course it happened right when Olivia told Javert that she can't marry him. (I say Javert because the guy played Javert in the 25th anniversary concert of Les Mis lol. That's all I can see him as. Better than thinking of Russell Crowe right?) I'm guessing that's the moment that you were referring to, MJ but I could be wrong! Oh right...and the supreme court justice ordered the hit on fitz too! Crazy crazy stuff. Love the flashbacks on the campaign that finally led up to the moment where Olivia agreed to the election rigging. Loved the animosity between Fitz and his dad (man he was an ass! Totally different than his role on Spin City). Then of course, Cy put the hit on his boyfriend/husband and then called it off at the last second. And then he lied to the jury to protect Cy. Crazy crazy. Loving this show! Won't be able to watch any tonight. We're going out...so we'll resume Thursday. But averaging 3 a night we should be done in 3 more viewing nights! (so maybe Saturday lol)
Star Trek didn't have much to dissect - wish we had this around for Xfiles though.

Dome - lol on smoke monster. I also thought we were suppused to think pink stars. Swear the kid covered it up when they left though. A little sad when the best dialog of the ep is this pubescent boy awkwardly discovering that the girl might go all the way with him. Agree with PJ that if this weren't a summer show I'd not be watching, though I feel they needed to end it this year and not do S2
Yeah...maybe if I actually watched every season of X-Files. :-) I was a casual fan of the show not hardcore. But what I did watch was always great. It's one I probably need to go back and watch. But it's a little tainted by those Non-Duchovny years.

Scandal - nope - that was it ! I was blown away by the Pres choking that Supreme Court judge, as well as her bing the one who called the hit ! Til now the only thing he did wrong is fall inlove with another woman while married to someone else. Agree on both points with Fitz's dad. But yeah - I ws also blown away by Cy putting a hit on his own husband, and the hubby lying on the stand - did not think he'd do it. Oh - and how about Mellie forging his signature and lying about him being wake !?! Sooooo - hmmm. Trying to think how to ask you if you know this yet ? Ok - looked up the character name LOL Have you met Jake ballard yet (actor Scott Foley)? Ah - still so many great surprises coming for ya. LOL
Xfiles - I watched the early years avidly - then it did wane as a show
Scandal - Nope, no Scott Foley yet. I'm guessing he'll be showing up soon. I think I did hear he was on the show at some point. Looking forward to continuing on. Wish we could watch some tonight!

Dome--The boy did recover the smaller dome with the glowing egg. I think we were just supposed to see the girl's effect on the egg. I'm still not ruling out an Alice resurrection. But she made a big deal about the new Alice, so maybe that will be something to watch for.

Hell on Wheels starts this Saturday night!! I will miss Lilly a lot however, that girl had gumption, fought off Indians and helped build a railraod with her smarts.

BB - So, I was putting 2 and 2 together this morning. I knew I had a concert on Sunday to go to and I knew I was so excited for Breaking Bad this Sunday. Never considered the fact that I can't do both!!! So annoyed I'm going to miss the premiere. That's a show I like to watch basically live. I'm going to have to stay off the internet Monday and not talk to anyone until I'm caught up! But, I'll still post a new discussion post so we can get a clean slate of comments! lol

Yes, I still lurk and read just don't have much to add so I don't comment.
I was a casual X-files fan too and totally dismissed the show once Mulder wasn't a main character. Several years ago Amazon had the dvd for every season on sale for $20 (each) so I picked them all up.
Surprisingly, those Mulderless years were much, much better than I expected. Those seasons are much more focused on the alien arc than the years with Molder.
BTW, it took me several months to get through all nine seasons.
I've still been watching Under The Dome and, for the most part, find it worth the time. I agree with MJ though, wish they wouldn't have went for a second season.

Nice on the X-Files marathon. Yeah, if I ever wanted to watch them they're all on Netflix. A couple years ago, I tried watching the pilot episode again. It felt so dated. lol But, I'm sure it's still worth it for a lot of the stories they told.
Still haven't watched a single minute of Dome. Not sure if I'll get around to it or not. There's just so much else on my "hit list" before that.
ALIAS - Still barreling through. Sydney, Jack and Mom just got back from their 2 part adventure to recover a Rambaldi artifact and prevent a nuclear explosion (which was never going to happen). Sloan is still being taunted by someone who claims to have his wife (who was supposedly dead). Though I'm confused. It would appear the pictures Sloan received showed her with a bullet in her head. So, I have no idea if she actually survived Sloan's poisoning and now has been killed anyway! Seems like it's going to be a season-long arc. So, I'll just let it play out. Will may soon be working for the CIA. He took a test to see if he's trustworthy. He's starting to resemble the "MOVIE Bradley Cooper" with his appearance. lol
Scandal - Scott Foley has arrived!! We watched 3 more eps and he was in all of them. He's working for Fitz but he's also trying to date Olivia. I loved when he was in Olivia's apartment and gave a nod to his camera. LOL (I was actually hoping he'd do that). Then he killed the guy that took a picture of him and Olivia together. Crazy crazy. Fitz is being a big drunken baby right now. But, he did finally rescue the hostages in that crisis. Then there's that murderer guy in the cabinet who has been in countless TV shows and movies. And he's on the scent of Lindsay/Quinn. And Quinn was working with Huck to try and pick up some of his skills. But, she was a little slopping in her stint at the Cleaners.
We have 6 episodes to go. Surely, we can wrap it up before the weekend is over! :-)
Orange - Finished last night. Really enjoyed this show! Probably wouldn't have watched without Mike's comments. The actress who plays Piper is really good especially in the last episode. Very intense!
@Leslie - You really got ahead of me! We got interrupted by Scandal, but we'll be back on soon enough! I've really enjoyed what I have watched so far though. Funny, in the EW Mag Bullseye this week, it showed outside of the bullseye (meaning it's something we don't like) something like "waiting for people to finish Orange is the New Black so you can discuss the crazy cliffhanger" lol So, I'll just say, I'm sorry! :-) lol
Mike - yeah, I only know one other person besides you who is watching, so it is frustrating not to be able to comment about the details. I'm actually curious now about reading her book. I don't know if you read that article from the link I posted the other day, but from that I learned she did, in fact, marry her fiance in real life, and they have a kid which enhances the story for me knowing they made it through this experience.
@Leslie - I did read the article, but I may have skimmed that part. That's nice to know she did get married. It was an interesting read to see how much is dramaticized vs. what actually happened. Makes sense that in real life more of the conflict would be "internal".
